PEAceNUTS

PROBLEM

Sera-machi is a tiny town in Hiroshima prefecture, Japan. Abandoned land caused by the falling birthrate and aging population, lead to a lack of successors to manage land and populate the town. We were tasked with revitalizing the community.

SOLUTION

We organized the brand into three areas and tried to rebuild the community through planting seeds of change that would grow into community development potentials.

1) ReSEED is a brand that creates a recycling-based economy in Sera-machi and “sows seeds for the future.”

2) ReSEED Lab, an after-school based online learning program, fosters the children of Sera-machi who will create a new future as global citizens.

3) SEEDers, a shared office for remote workers, will realize a hybrid lifestyle of digital remote working and agricultural growth.

Harassing the power of peanuts, we created a sub-brand PEAceNUTS, which creates peanut snacks and products, which acts a foundation to build all our other networks. We’re working to grow each area carefully and fully, hoping to simultainiously develop a cross-contaminating web of community symboisos.
